Term 1, Week 5, lesson 1&2
In this weeks lessons, I begin to create the pearls, I used basic perimative shape which was a circle as the basis of my pearl, I then replicated this and started to put them in place. After I created the necklace I then added the pearl texture. I am pleased with the outcome of the pearls, I still need to add more inorder to create a lavish and glamourous feel for my animation. This is a lenghty process but hopefully I will be finish the pearls by next lesson.
Term 2, Week 4, Lesson 1&2
This week I played around with lighting, I originally intended the light intensity to be 0.5, but after playing around with the light intensity I realised that the light had to be alot stronger inorder for the background and mannaquin to stand out. I used 5 lights to do this, the lighting needs to be accurate to create a 'sophisticated' feel for my animation. I also found textures that I can use for the pearls...

Term 2, Week 3, Lesson 2
In todays lesson, I added the background to my animation, I choose a lace background, that I tiled and I think this looks suitable, I did not use my original backgrounds I choose because I did not manage to find a decent camera with high resolution, and the quality of the image had to be high in order to look realistic.

Term 2, Week 2, Lesson 1
In todays lesson, I created a plane for the basis of the floor of my animation, this is black, however I might have to rethink the colour as the dress might not be able to be seen clear enough, this is because the dress is also black. I then adjusted minor details on the mannaquin and dress and I am now satisifed with the outcome.
Term 2, Week 1, Lesson 1&2
This week I continued to focus on the minor details to the dress on the mannaquin, I realised that parts of the mannaquin were visable through the dress therefore, I spent a lengthy time trying to correct this. This is a problem that could not be prevented because the dress i choose from turbo squid was not intended for the mannaquin, these problems are always faced when using a ready made object or texture from a website like turbo squid.
I am happy with the outcome of the dress for the mannauin, even if it does not meet original plans, however I understood that I may need to compromise with my plans throughout this process, this is a result of lack of time and general ability in 3d studio max.

Term 1, Week 8, Lesson 1&2
This weeks lesson, I focused on creating the dress, I took the dress from 'turbo squid' with the intention of adjusting the length, style and colour to create my dress for the mannaquin. The dress i choose is below, and i believe is the perfect basis to create the dress for my animation.
After researching and trialing making clothing on 3d studio max, I realised that this process is very time consuming and will be difficult to achieve within my time period.
I started adjusting the length of the dress, and added a slight flare to the bottom, the dress does not look my plans, but is a suitable compromise. The dress is not intended or made to fit my mannquin therefore I had alot of problems when trying to make the dress fit the model, therefore in places the dress is slightly big for the mannaquin.
After I fitted the dress on the mannaquin I then had to find a suitable material that would be fitting to my original plans, I found a few fabrics that i thought were fitting to my original plans. I also had to find a fabric with a block colour, this is because when adding a texture on 3d studio max if they fabric has a slight crease it will show on the dress, I thought this would look odd, and unrealistic.
Block colour fabrics...

I also originally Intended the fabric on the mannaquin to be silk, therefore the two silk block fabrics I found were most appropiate for my animation.

Term 1, Week 7, Lesson 2
In todays lesson, I continued with my animation. I started to create fabric, but this is a really tricky process to perfect. During homework time, I am going to explore ways of creating fabric to get the look and feel I Intended.
